In the 4th grade my “high-water” jeans were getting higher by the day and there were no hand me downs in sight. I needed longer pants, and quick!  I found a plaid flannel shirt, cut off the sleeve cuffs and sewed them into the leg bottoms of my jeans.  Problem solved… and with style!

Growing up fifth in a family of eight kids in the Bronx, where “money doesn’t grow on trees”, I learned early on if you wanted something you had to be resourceful.

When I wanted to play roller hockey in 8th grade, I needed goalie equipment. I knew I had a baseball glove and catchers mask and I could McGiver together some skates from parts of broken pairs.  For goalie pads, I sewed a pair of old jeans around some couch cushions I found on the street and voila, ready for the rink!  Not the best looking goalie in the league but first team all-star nonetheless.

Those early examples led me to a lifetime of creating practical solutions. A painted concrete kitchen floor to cover cheap tile, a shower enclosure from industrial framing, stair railings from cable wire, outdoor stairs with built in flower boxes, and on and on…

As I now retire from a career in IT and web development, I have more time to dive into the creative process I’ve always enjoyed. By combining elements in unexpected ways, my goal is to create unique items that are both functional and eye-catching. Take a look through the catalog of items to find some common and uncommon solutions to fit your needs.
